Monologue Work
* If you have not yet selected a monologue from a PUBLISHED play, you NEED to do that ASAP!
* Once you have your monologue, obtain a copy of the play, if you can. (Utelize the libraries. Here's a link to their online catelog: www.chipublib.org. It may take a few weeks for a library to transfer your play to your local library, and that's okay! That's why we're having you start this process now. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY THE PLAY!)
* Read the play!
* Memorize your monologue.

9/11 Project - Due 9/20/12
* Research the 9/11 attacks.
* Watch this webcast, if you can: http://www.911memorial.org/
(As long as you do some form of research - even if you just watch the nightly news, you should be able to complete this assignment.)
* IN YOUR JOURNAL write a 1 page monologue about 9/11. Develop a character. Are you a broadcaster, a student, a firefighter in New York, a worker at the Pentagon, a child? How old are you? What year is it? Think about where you are. Are you at the airport, work, in a classroom? There are no real restrictions to how you write this. Be CREATIVE, but know the facts.

***Please see the JOURNAL REQUIREMENTS tab prior to completing the assignment.

COLLEGE/SCHOLARSHIP RESEARCH
1) Everyone needs to find a scholarship, grant or contest that they can enter (in addition to the Walgreens Expressions Challenge). You also need to start to prepare the materials you need in order to apply for that scholarship/grant/contest. - Due 9/24/12
2) All SENIORS need to start researching a college/university they would like to attend. Find out what is required to apply, when the deadline for applications is, and when auditions start (if applicable).
